I've been trying to cut similar patterns and overlay them to have a Moiré optical illusion effect.
This is the register of my experience so far.

Pepakura project development

using the same folding pattern I created a grid of 0.5cm and 1cm and did the folding with those measurements. On my past experiences I did with a 2cm grid. I also tried to paint some of the panels and took a picture under a light and dark light room conditions.

This Saturday I will laser cut this pattern and try to combine it with my escapement project.

Then I designed the same pattern using 3d tools

• correct the measurements
• create a pattern around the wheel
• from the center of the wheel create a weight in order to set the motion

Pepakura structure idea exploration

For this project I've been folding paper trying to make different surface shapes as an exercise before constructing my 3d Pepakura project.
